Pro Series 12 by AVR (Audio Visual Research) / 2 Bit Systems, was released in 1990. 2 Bit Systems were the same people behind the Master and Replay series of Samplers licensed by Microdeal. The same people that were responsible for the AVR (Audio Visual Research) sample file format, likely introduced with Pro Series 12.
